Tell Congress To Approve SSDI Amendment

Senate Amendment 455 (S.Amdt.455) has been introduced by Sens. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) and Tom Cotton (R-AR) to attach the ALS Disability Insurance Access Act (S.578) to the National Defense Authorization Act (S.1790). If approved, the amendment would waive the five-month Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) waiting period before people with ALS receive access to SSDI benefits.

ALS is recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs as being connected to military service. Active military personnel and veterans are twice as likely to develop ALS as the general population. Below we have prepared a letter that we would like you to send to your senators.
